Rabbi Dovber, born and raised in Montreal, Canada, studied in Yeshivas in Montreal, Israel, Los Angeles, and New York, and received his Bachelors Degree from the Central Chabad Yeshiva, and his Rabbinical Ordination from the chief Rabbi of Toronto, Canada. While completing his rabbinical and postgraduate studies, he spent the last five years leading services, educational seminars, and community outreach in numerous cities across the states of California, Washington, New Jersey, and New York. He has also taught and lectured on an array of subjects such as Talmud, Halacha, and Chassidic philosophy at the Chabad Yeshivahs in Los Angeles, and New York.
For Chaya, growing up in the heart of the Crown Heights Jewish Community, Chabad Headquarters in Brooklyn, NY, her passion to inspire and reach out is imbedded in her every fiber ever since her childhood. After graduating with honors from High School she received a diploma in education from Ohel Chana Seminary in Melbourne Australia. Once back in the states she received her undergraduate degree in early childhood. With her exceptional love for children and energetic upbeat demeanor, Chaya spent 4 years teaching at the Gan Yiladim Preschool in Grand Rapids, MI, and 2 years at the Chabad Preschool in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. With her years of preschool teaching experience she was nominated in 2007 to give a workshop at the NAEYC conference on integrating a Jewish and general studies curriculum in the preschool classroom.
The Berkowitz's Moved to the Contra Costa Area in 2010 Along with their twins Shua & Chana. Together, the Berkowitz Family form a powerful team bringing warmth and happiness to all around them. With their warm smiles and non-judgmental approach, they have already begun setting the groundwork to build a most vibrant community in the Contra Costa area.
